Julia Durmer

Julia Durmer is an experienced renewable energy communications professional. She works with clients and stakeholders to develop content and amplify it in the news and social media. 

While working on her Masters of Public Health at the George Washington University with a concentration in communication and marketing, Julia developed a passion for renewable energy.

She then worked in strategy and engagement at the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office for three years, helping launch funding programs, maintain and create online resources, and manage the solar newsletter.

Julia swam competitively for the University of Virginia and Emory University, earning nine All-American awards for academic and athletic achievement. She was Emory’s team captain her senior year.

She lives in Chicago with her husband and two cats, and teaches community swimming lessons in her spare time.
