Jake Edie
Jake Edie has devoted his career to understanding the nuances of his customer’s problems and simplifying complex technical, policy, and business topics into regular English that anyone can understand.
He has led marketing, business development, and commercial operations efforts for several leading clean energy companies, and has over 25 years of experience in energy storage, renewables, software, and consulting.
He has been instrumental in two successful exits: Clean Energy Associates’ 2022 acquisition by Intertek (ticker ITRK.L), and DemandTec’s IPO in 2007 (ticker DMAN, subsequently acquired by IBM).
He is a frequent speaker and author on clean energy topics, including at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he teaches “Clean Energy and the Electric Grid.”
Most recently Jake was Vice President, Marketing for Clean Energy Associates (now Intertek CEA) where his Marketing, Insides Sales, and Sales Operations teams helped double sales from his arrival in 2021 to 2024.
He managed battery supplier relationships, energy storage business development, and proposals for S&C Electric Company, an EPC in energy storage, microgrids, heat and power, and solar. He served as VP, Business Development for lithium-ion battery integrator AllCell Technologies, since acquired by Beam Global.
His hands-on experience dealing with key challenges in the industry, including negotiating EPC agreements and energy storage and inverter supply agreements, navigating warranty claims, and managing the aftermath of battery fire, allow him to quickly understand the challenges that RenewComm’s clients and their customers face.
Jake holds an MS in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University. He resides in Chicago, where he enjoys competitive swimming, scuba diving, traveling, spending time with his family, and listening to too many political podcasts.
